 About us
Seanomad Freediving School is the first school in Bulgaria that offers high standard of education led by certified instructor. The focus of the AIDA freediving courses that we offer is to keep you and your buddies safe. Our courses are well balanced and cover theory, equipment use, pool skills and open water sessions. Seanomad was founded in 2012 by Lubomir Stefanoff - a certified AIDA Master instructor and AIDA judge in Bulgaria. He is successful competitor on international level, with participations in big competitions, several medals and 10 national records in both pool and depth disciplines. Seanomad Freediving School makes efforts to increase the popularity and improve the image of freediving as accessible and safe sport. Two presentations by Lubomir Stefanoff in well-attended events (Days of the challenges 2010 and TEDxSofia 2012) awakened the interest of the general public towards this little known sport. That led to more media attention and soon the idea of organizing the first competition in Bulgaria was born.
Lubomir Stefanoff and Seanomad Freedivign School are organizers of Sofia Freediving Cup 2012 - the first freediving competition in Bulgaria. More than 30 competitors from 5 countries took part in the two-day static and dynamic apnea competition, held on the 17th & 18th November 2012. 9 national records were broken and the competiton enjoyed great media coverage: two national TV stations, newspapers, online magazines and radio stations. Sofia Freediving Cup 2012 was assessed as well organized competiton by the observing organization - AIDA Serbia. This competition was the beginning of competitive freediving in Bulgaria. |
